One of the well-preserved medieval architecture is the Kilkenny Castle. It was built during the first decade of the thirteen century for William Marshal, 4th Earl of Pembroke. It is said to be the original Anglo-Norman stone castle.
The castle is settled in the heart of the city mainly in The Parade, Collegepark, Kilkenny and a 15-minute walk from McDonagh Railway station.
